Introducing ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody

Mg Biologics is pleased to introduce their newest USDA approved antibody product to the market: ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody, for use as an aid in the control of Rhodococcus equi by reducing disease severity. 

The costly, heart breaking effects of Rhodococcus equi infection in foals are well documented.  Currently, administration of Rhodococcus equi antibodies is the only prophylactic strategy licensed by the USDA to significantly reduce the incidence or severity of R. equi pneumonia in foals.  In an efficacy study, ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody increased VapA (the virulence protein associated with R. equi pneumonia)titers and statistically reduced the severity of radiographic lung lesions after infection.  Further, ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody helped prevent increased respiratory effort. With increased titers, a reduction in lung lesion severity, and decreased respiratory effort, ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody reduced morbidity attributable to infection with Rhodococcus equi.

ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody is made from three strains of R. equi and is the only licensed R. equi antibody that has published data in controlled challenge studies demonstrating to be efficacious as an aid in the control of Rhodococcus equi. Research showed that administration of ReSolution Rhodococcus Equi Antibody within the first 24 hours of life was effective as an aid in the control of foal pneumonia caused by Rhodococcus equi by reducing disease severity.  The average foal should receive one liter within the first day of life.  Dose at a rate of  40mL/kg of body weight (approximately 20mL/pound).
